Parker Finn is a director to keep an eye on and it helps he has a name you can remember. His 2022 movie Smile was a hit and his follow-up Smile 2, released on October 18, was also well-received.

Now you can watch the first seven minutes of the latter for free, but there is a caveat. Paramount Pictures will only allow you to stream it if you smile. That’s right, smiling for seven minutes into your device’s camera is the only way to watch the preview.

You should know that Paramount will want you to grant them access to your camera and if you stop smiling so does the stream.

In both movies, a demon who feeds on the trauma of others terrorizes its victims with disturbing hallucinations. It is only when its victim commits suicide in front of another person whereby passing on the trauma and the curse, that the demon moves on.

In the sequel, pop star Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) is the demon’s latest victim. She is recovering from a drug addiction and the death of her boyfriend in a horrific car accident which she feels guilty for. Some say Smile 2 is bloodier than the first.

Finn’s excellent direction and Scott’s performance keep Smile 2 from being a throw-away chapter. Smile 2 is expected to be released for digital rental or purchase on November 19.
