Horror-Comedy ‘Werewolves Within’ Announces Initial Casting

Deadline has reported that Sam Richardson (Veep) is set to star in Werewolves Within, a big-screen adaptation of Ubisoft’s virtual reality game.

The project is being written by comedian and gamer Mishna Wolff (Limp) and Josh Ruben, who wrote, directed, and starred in the upcoming Scare Me, will direct.

Ubisoft’s Werewolves Within takes place in a fantasy medieval town called Gallowston where a werewolf has begun attacking the local gentry. Players from around the world can convene around the same virtual campfire in an effort to determine who among them is the werewolf to save themselves and their village.

The game is a fun and fast-paced exercise in deception with three star rating currently on Steam, and it will be interesting to see how the creative team brings the format to life on the big screen.

Wolff secured a script deal for the film adaptation after pitching her idea at Ubisoft’s first Women’s Film and Television Fellowship.

While there is no scheduled date for the release at this time, casting news generally means that projects are gearing up to begin production and we should know more soon.

With Richardson’s considerable comedy skills, this definitely has the potential to be a big hit.
