‘Faces Of Death’ is Being Rebooted to Bring Back Everything Dying in Horrible Ways

I grew up in a household that believed that Faces of Death was real. I feel like, there was a subset of folks back during this films release that all believed the same. The film was controversial as heck, it was banned in several countries and was even treated as a x-rated film in some video shops. Now, Legendary Entertainment has bought the rights with plans to reboot it for a new digital age.

The original film followed a pathologist who would explore atrocities in different cultures. These would include cannibalism, executions, eating animals alive, looks at blood rituals and more. It was pretty insane back in the day. Tt came with the air of mystery to it. Now, it’s almost a joke and an exploration what fools we were to believe any part of it in the first place.

The reboot will follow a YouTube moderator who has to go through material to 86 content that she deems offensive. All that while she deals with personal trauma of her own. She eventually comes upon a group on YouTube who is recreating the death’s from the first film. Death’s that are a little bit too real. The investigation sends her down a warped path; discovering if these murders and rituals are real or as fake as the original Faces Of Death.

The writing and directing team behind Cam, Isa Mazzei and Daniel Goldhaber, will take on the project for Legendary Entertainment.
