Disney+ is already planning their super spooky Halloween lineup with the announcement this morning of the Muppets Haunted Mansion Halloween special.

According to the synopsis provided in the release we received this morning, Muppets Haunted Mansion takes place on Halloween night, when Gonzo is challenged to spend one very daring night in the most grim grinning place on Earth…The Haunted Mansion. The brand new special will include “a star-studded Muppets cast, celebrity cameos, all-new music and spooky fun for families to enjoy together.”

Gonzo and Pepe the King Prawn got together to announce the show in a hilarious video which you can see below.

Since they first debuted way back in the 70s, we’ve seen every kind of Muppets special from original films like The Muppet Movie to their own version of A Christmas Carol and The Wizard of Oz. This is the first time outside of an episode or two of the original Muppet Show, however, when the central Muppet cast has gotten together to directly do Halloween. They are long overdue, and we can’t wait to see how this one comes together.
