‘American Refugee’ Casting Announced by Blumhouse and Epix

Epix and Blumhouse have announced casting for American Refugee, the upcoming feature that is part of an eight-film deal struck between the two entities.

According to the film’s synopsis: American Refugee tells the story of a family seeking shelter in a neighbor’s bunker, while the American economy is in collapse and the nation under martial law. There they find the danger inside is potentially greater than the danger outside.

True Blood alum Sam Trammell is set to play the part of the neighbor in the new film. He’s joined by Erika Alexander (Get Out) and Derek Luke (The Purge: The Series). The trio are joined by Peyton Jackson (Nobody’s Fool) as well as Zamani Wilder (Blumhouse Television’s Sacred Lies), Jessi Case (Mother’s Day), and Vince Mattis (Halloween).

Peyton Jackson, Vince Mattis, and Zamani Wilder will appear in the supporting cast of American Refugee

Allison & Nicolas Buckmelter won the Academy Nicholl Fellowship for the film’s script which is being directed by Ali LeRoi (The Obituary of Tunde Johnson).

There is no word yet on when American Refugee will air. It is the second film in the Epix and Blumhouse collab, and we will most likely see it in 2022.
