‘Shadow in the Cloud’ Unleashes a Pissed Off Gremlin On Chloe Moretz’ World War II Plane

I try to tell everyone I know about Shadow in the Cloud. The film is insanely good and is being missed by the horror community in general. That’s why I’m really excited to tell you all that the film will be available on Hulu this week beginning May 5. So, you will have no excuse to have not seen it anymore!

I can seriously understand why so many folks missed this one. It has to do with a couple of things. One, there was no marketing behind it whatsoever. Two, the poster for the film which features Moretz shooting a pistol out the side of a planes gunner nest was very misleading. Nothing about the poster would let inform that this is a horror film. Very sad too because, the film is well shot, well-acted and oh my god this thing will put you on the edge of our dang seat.

The film focuses on the World War II urban legend that warned pilots about gremlins who were responsible for sabotaging war planes. Of course, the urban legend was just a cover for faulty mechanics on the beat up planes… or was it.

The synopsis for Shadow in the Cloud goes like this:

In the throes of World War II, Captain Maude Garrett (CHLOË GRACE MORETZ) joins the all-male crew of a B-17 bomber with a top-secret package. Caught off guard by the presence of a woman on a military flight, the crew tests Maude’s every move. Just as her quick wit is winning them over, strange happenings and holes in her backstory incite paranoia surrounding her true mission. But this crew has more to fear…lurking in the shadows, something sinister is tearing at the heart of the plane. Trapped between an oncoming air ambush and an evil lurking within, Maude must push beyond her limits to save the hapless crew and protect her mysterious cargo.

I would love for the secret of the film to be able to be kept. But, in order to get folks to watch it you have to mention the dang gremlin, as I have here. I personally, watched the film early on before knowing anything about it and was shocked that it was about gremlins and well, I won’t say anything else because there are still some surprises.

So, again. Don’t miss this one. I promise you guys are in for an awesome experience that sees Moretz become someone Ellen Ripley would be dang proud of. Also, if you have a home theater with great sound… use it. This film’s sound design is unbelievable, so make sure to take advantage of that.

Shadow in the Cloud lands on Hulu this week, May 5. Watch it. Come back and leave a comment here or head over to my Twitter (@TreyHilburn) and tell me what you think. Pssst. You are going to dig it.
