You know Nathan Jung’s face. His long career has made him one of those actors that you just know. Over his long career, he transcended genre, but primarily he was know for action, sci-fi and martial arts roots. From Star Trek to Manimal this dude was in some cool stuff over his full working actor’s career.
Sadly, the actor, writer and stuntman, Nathan Jung passed away at the age of 74 on April 24. His attorney and good friend, Timothy Tau shared the news of the actor’s passing. Jung began his career on General Hospital but he made a spot for himself in genre with his next role as Genghis Khan in Star Trek.
Following his role as Khan he spent the next couple of decades playing in TV favorites like Manimal, Riptide and Kung-Fu.
According to Deadline, Jung was proud to have worked with both Bruce and Brandon Lee at different points in his career. Bruce – in Here Comes the Bride and Brandon in the very awesome Showdown in Little Tokyo. To add to that radness, Jung also played Leslie Nielsen’s top dude in Surf Ninjas, where Jung proved he could play the heck out comedy.
Deadline reports that Jung is survived by nephew, Keith Jung.
