Ghostbusters: Afterlife is slated for release in theaters this Fall, and just this morning, they revealed that yet another classic character from the original film will make an appearance.
In a video posted on YouTube less than an hour ago, we see Paul Rudd’s character in a grocery store picking up a few items when he happens upon a package of Stay Puft Marshmallows that begin to quiver and shake on their own. That’s when things get strange.
Take a look.
Stay Puft was, hands down, one of the most memorable characters in a film that was full of them back when he was first revealed, and it’s only right that he be a part of a film that seems to have gone out of its way to connect back to the original.
In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a mother and her two children arrive in a small town where they discover their own ties to the original Ghostbusters crew along with a secret left behind by their grandfather.
Rudd stars in the film alongside Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Makenna Grace (Annabelle Comes Home), and Carrie Coon (Gone Girl). The film will also feature appearances by original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts.
The film is directed by Jason Reitman whose father, Ivan Reitman, directed the original film. The elder Reitman serves as a producer on the new film.
After multiple delays, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is scheduled for release in theaters on November 10, 2021. Are you excited for the new film? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
