‘Willy’s Wonderland’ Trailer Is All Caged Up And Ready To Party

Nicolas Cage takes on a bunch of rogue kid’s fun center automatons in Willy’s Wonderland coming to On Demand February 12, 2021. The film has had a name change; it was once titled Wally’s Wonderland. The official trailer dropped today and you can view it below.

This Cage vehicle was announced back in late 2019 and went into production just before the pandemic. The film was scheduled to hit theaters in October 2020 but changed course and will go straight to home screens.

Plotwise there’s not much to reveal based on the trailer. Cage’s car gets a flat tire due to a purposely placed spike strip and suddenly he is tasked with cleaning up an abandoned arcade-style animatronic theater. Only the cute robots are possessed and are determined to kill our hero.

But here’s the official synopsis:

A quiet drifter is tricked into a janitorial job at the now condemned Wally’s Wonderland [sic]. The mundane tasks suddenly become an all-out fight for survival against wave after wave of demonic animatronics. Fists fly, kicks land, titans clash — and only one side will make it out alive.

Much along the lines of the live-action Five Night at Freddy’s which was recently announced it’s going to start filming in 2021 with Chris Columbus directing, Willy’s Wonderland takes the concept of killer pizzaria-type anthropomorphized characters to horror-level B movie entertainment. We aren’t complaining.
