‘Scare Package’ Comes to DVD and Blu-Ray Just In Time For Halloween

One of my favorite horror surprises this year was definitely Aaron B. Koontz’ meta-horror, Scare Package. The anthology film is a blast from start to finish and comes from a really warm and horror loving place.

Earlier this year, Shudder surprised a lot of folks by dropping this into one of their Joe Bob’s Last Drive In episodes. To take the meta surprise even further, it turned out that Joe Bob actually makes a cameo appearance in Scare Package. It was a double scoop of awesomeness for the horror community.

The official synopsis for Scare Package goes like this:

In SCARE PACKAGE, Chad Buckley is a lonely Horror aficionado, spending his days overseeing a struggling video store and arguing with his only customer, Sam. When an unsuspecting job applicant arrives, Chad sets out to teach him the rules of Horror; weaving in and out of hilarious segments geared toward the ropes and tropes of terror.

Bonus features on the DVD include:

  • Creators Commentary on the Film, Commenting on Other Films That Have Better Commentary Tracks
  • Bonus Segment: Locker Room Z
  • Rad Chad’s Rad Ad
  • The SCARE PACKAGE Blooper Reel
  • Original Not-as-Good Ending

Bonus features on the Blu-ray include all of the above, as well as:

  • The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs: SCARE PACKAGE Episode

Scare Package comes to VOD, Digital HD, DVD and Blu-ray on October 20.
