Jason Blum Says ‘Halloween Kills’ is “Pretty Good”

Blumhouse’s much anticipated Halloween sequel, Halloween Kills is headed our way later this year. After what the team did with the first film, folks are rightfully excited to see where that story goes. Head of Blumhouse, Jason Blum recently was able to screen Halloween Kills in it’s entirety and in a recent talk with i09, he says, it’s “Pretty good.”

Hmm. Not exactly the answer I would expect but, I’ll still take that as praise.

“[Halloween Kills] feels like a complete movie, there’s a first, second, and third act. It has a big end. You still know from the end of the second movie where the third movie is going, but the second movie ends in a totally satisfying way. So it doesn’t feel like, you know, that Lord of the Rings issue that they had.” Blum said.

So, we can be certain that there is a beginning, a middle and an end… sounds cool.

At the very least, Blum does sound concerned with not wanting the stories to be compartmentalized and instead feel like a full arcing experience.

Halloween Kills opens in theaters Oct. 16, with the third part of the trilogy due out Oct. 15 of 2021.
