We are already pretty excited about Ghostbusters: Afterlife coming out later this year. In addition to that radness, it appears that Sony and Hostess are going to be teaming up to make us further excited for the Ghostbusters film release though. It looks like we will be receiving “blue slime” Twinkies around the release of the film.

Aaron Mallia posted a picture to Instagram that makes it appear as though Walmart will carry these special Ghostbuster Twinkies in their store later this June.

Hostess worked on a similar Twinkies release that featured Green key lime filling back when the last Ghostbusters was released.

Blue slime Twinkies is really exciting news if it turns out to be true. What could that blue slime indicate? Possibly it’s a hint at one of the spectral entities in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, or maybe it’s just a cool release with no connection. Really, blue slime needs absolutely no real excuse to exist. Either way we can’t wait to try them out when they are released… if they do turn out to be a real thing.
