Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Antlers’ Releases Disturbing Final Trailer

The final trailer for Antlers dropped this morning and from the looks of things we are in for one creepy creature feature.

Produced by Guillermo Del Toro, the film is directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass) and based on a story by Nick Antosca (The Act) who co-wrote the script with Cooper and C. Henry Chaisson (Open 24 Hours).

The film centers on a teacher (Keri Russell) in Oregon who along with her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, who find themselves involved in the life of her student Lucas (Jeremy T. Thomas). They soon find the boy has a terrible secret connected to a terrifying creature and a local mine.

The new trailer focuses on themes of dark myths and legends and gives us small doses of the creature in question in Lucas’s drawings.

“That’s a myth,” the sheriff says.
“Yeah, for you,” Warren Stokes (Graham Greene) answers.

Some of Del Toro’s best work as a producer, writer and director has come when he digs into legends, fairy tales, and mythology and Antlers looks like it’s going to be one hell of an addition to his catalog.
