Midnight Society Returns in First Trailer for ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’

Nickelodeon’s reboot of the popular Are You Afraid of the Dark? series has had fans of the original series nostalgic for a while, now, and that feeling seriously went to 11 when the trailer dropped yesterday.

The three-part limited series is set to debut on October 11, 2019 at 7 pm EST with new episodes following on the 18th and 25th according to Collider.

The new series will find an all-new Midnight Society as they gather to tell the story of the Carnival of Doom, only to see it and its menacing ringmaster, Mr. Tophat (Rafael Casal), come to terrifying life.

Lyliana Wray (Maximum Ride), Sam Ashe Arnold (An Elephant’s Journey), Miya Cech (Rim of the World), Jeremy Ray Taylor (IT), and Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch) will star in the limited series on Nickelodeon.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? ran for multiple season in the 90s featuring a different tale each week from the Midnight Society, who would gather in the woods by firelight to tell scary stories.

If you were a child actor in the day, you wanted to make your way onto the show, and it boasted some serious soon-to-be stars among its guests including Ryan Gosling (La La Land), Jay Baruchel (How to Train Your Dragon), Emily VanCamp (Revenge), Tyler Labine (Escape Room), and Hayden Christensen (Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3) just to name a few.

This reboot comes at just the right time for some of those who grew up on the series to introduce it to their own kids. Check out the official trailer below, and let us know if you’ll be tuning into Are You Afraid of the Dark? next month!
