‘Prey’ From ‘Predator’ Franchise Gets Official Trailer

Check out the new trailer for Prey, the latest movie in the Predator franchise. The promo dropped today and the movie will stream exclusively on Hulu starting August, 5. In this film, we travel back 300 years and follow Naru, a highly skilled warrior from the Comanche Nation.

As a hunter, she is on the trail of an unusual beast who seems to evade or anticipate her every move. Turns out, it’s no beast, not of this world anyway, but a highly developed alien character with technological weaponry far beyond the crude tactics used by Naru’s tribe.

But being the unrelenting force she is, Naru eventually meets this predator face-to-face in a showdown on the Great Plains of Indigenous America.

Prey is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (“Jack Ryan,” “Treadstone”), and produced by John Davis (“Jungle Cruise,” “The Predator”), Jhane Myers (“Monsters of God”), and Marty Ewing (“It: Chapter Two”), with Lawrence Gordon (“Watchmen”), Ben Rosenblatt (“Snowpiercer”), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (“Fantasy Island”) serving as executive producers.

Creators were meticulous in creating this period piece. They wanted to bring authenticity of the time to the film going so far as to comprise the cast almost entirely Native Americans. This includes Amber Midthunder (“The Ice Road,” “Roswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (“Sooyii”), Michelle Thrush (“The Journey Home”) and Julian Black Antelope (“Tribal”). The movie also stars Dane DiLiegro (“American Horror Stories”) as the Predator.

“Prey” will be available on Hulu entirely in Comanche as a language option, or with Comanche subtitles, which is the first time a feature-length movie on a direct-to-consumer streaming platform has been available in the Comanche language in its entirety.
