‘The Sandman’ Trailer Brings Neil Gaiman’s Dream to Life on Netflix

Just when you never think that you will see the day. It suddenly happens. Today we get a look at Neil Gaiman’s epic The Sandman by way of the latest trailer. The entire story is being brought to contemporary times and placing Tom Sturridge in its lead. We are very hopeful for this one. It is easily one of the best things ever written, so it has some giant dreamy shoes to fill.

The synopsis for The Sandman goes like this:

When the Sandman, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge) — the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams — is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.

The Sandman stars Tom Sturridge, Boyd Holbrook, Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Jenna Coleman, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Vanesu Samunyai (formerly known as “Kyo Ra”), John Cameron Mitchell, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Joely Richardson, Niamh Walsh, Sandra James Young, Razane Jammal and Mark Hamill.

We can all begin the dream when all ten episodes arrive on Netflix beginning Aug. 5.
